Totally unofficial, slightly obsessive take on all things E Street Band related.

Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio)

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Tracks 2 was an interesting artifact, Nebraska 82 is just an absolute delight.

Losing Kind obviously shares a lot of DNA with Highway Patolman, but it also shares a lot with Highway 29, which in my mind is one of Springsteen’s most underrated songs.

On a holiday road trip we entertained ourselves by selecting the β€œbest” song for every state. I didn’t want to be too tiresome, so I only suggested Springsteen on those states we were having trouble with - Utah, Nebraska, South Dakota, etc. I did not even nominate him for the bigger … 1/3

Italian dinner and a toast with the TeachRock crew and Stevie Van Zandt at Morandi in The West Village. It was great hearing about all of the exciting things Mr. Van Vandt, the Teach Rock’s founder is doing by helping kids learn through musical education.

Show tonight FTC Fairfield TeachRocks!

Bruce always says that his audience was almost all male before 1980s Hungry Heart. But this video from 1978 seems to prove otherwise. πŸ˜‚

Going light on politics till after the holidays. So today it's #Springsteen lyrics. Here's my favorite:

"Lives on the line where dreams are found and lost
I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost
For wanting things that can only be found
In the darkness on the edge of town"

What's yours?

Every Springsteen love song can be read as the deeply personal story of one relationship … or as commentary on America.

πŸŽΆβ€We've given each other some hard lessons lately
But we ain't learnin'
We're the same sad story that's a fact
One step up and two steps back.β€πŸŽΆ

I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kids’ section. It’s all such a gift.

And he appeared on The Howard Stern Show with The E Street Band in October β€” where they gave a wide-ranging interview alongside an unprecedented stripped-down, full-band performance.

Every Springsteen lyric can be read as the deeply personal story of one human… or as commentary on America.

Springsteen is a great song writer and a good performer but some folks don't understand how amazing the E. Street Band is until they are seen live. It's not just a concert, it's an experience.
