I usually suggest In Other Lands to this.
But given the current environment I’m instead gonna suggest Lobizona by @rominagarber.bsky.social, because a story of an undocumented protag and a magic school of Brujas and werewolves (and lgbtq characters and struggles) seems pretty damn apt right now.
I loved this book! If you’re looking for a dark read with lush prose, a headstrong MC, & a creepy multi-generational mystery, I highly recommend THESE VENGEFUL WISHES by Vanessa Montalban. 🖤

And once again - the audiobook!! Masterful! Any time there are snippets of other languages in a book, I love listening to audiobooks so I can hear what they sound like - she describes a lot of accents in this book and hearing them is fabulous!
