Those three principles are 1. Modeling disorders as polygenic. 2. Including control for population stratification. 3. Awareness of environmental context. Now out on pubmed!

Concerns About Genetic Risk Testing for Opioid Use Disorder

We lay out three consensuses from the field of psychiatric genetics that should be considered before approving genetic tests for psychiatric disorders. The letter was signed by 140 experts in psychiatric genetics and published in Lancet Psychiatry. Now on Pubmed: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

Sample size, discovery power, and effect size of lead SNPs were the strongest determinants of enrichment, as opposed to biological function. I hope it serves as a demonstration of the practical benefit of scientific discovery. I'd like to thank my Coauthors.

Those disorders with larger sample sizes in their GWAS discovery set were significantly enriched for current treatments for those disorders. Those were, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, MDD, and SUDs. Those disorders with smaller samples were not (yet!) enriched.

Psychiatric genome-wide association study enrichment shows promise for future psychopharmaceutical discoveries - Communications Medicine Hatoum et al. undertake exploratory analysis of genome-wide association studies of specific psychiatric disorders to find existing medications that treat those disorders and genetic pathways that may ...

Collecting large genome-wide samples may de-risk reinvestment in psychopharmaceuticals. Expanding on past work that lumped all psychiatric disorders together, we conducted a test of the utility of GWAS for specific psychiatric indications. www.nature.com/articles/s43...

There are articles out there on lesions in deep neural networks in many applications. LLMs can do it in multiple ways, one is attention mapping (as @michelnivard.bsky.social pointed out). Do you know what they used the lesion to test? Was it attention or something else? It would help me find it.

I’m not familiar with that plant species, but generally what I would do since I can’t tell if it’s fungal or bacterial.

Yellowing could also be bacterial.

Could be an early fungal infection given the yellowing around the leaves. It doesn’t seem to be a pest. If the leaves are falling off prematurely, I’d look to see if spots with yellowing keep showing up and start to spread. Septoria would be my guess but not sure. Also could be simple singing.
