Today, I'm starting work on Chapter 9 of my manuscript---the multiplex. This is where it all starts coming together (or not).

Is it?

Evidence suggests most Americans are fine with paying taxes, but they find the current distribution to unreasonably favor the rich.

This is a great example of how Fox manipulates it's viewers. Because they trust only Fox, the Fox audience is completely vulnerable to manipulation by Fox. How could they know that what they're seeing with their own eyes isn't real? They couldn't. They're seeing it happen, it's right there!

I take Booker’s proposal as pandering and his announcement as stunt. This is not serious policy. It would cost a fair amount and have little general benefit. It’s made to appeal to people who don’t understand taxes—it’s insulting.

Rather than continuing the Ronald Reagan framing of government and taxation being bad, I’m looking for a political party to make positive case for government and its coercive power to provide public goods.

Trump just put in charge of Iran a guy considered to be a hardliner *before* we killed his father, mother, and wife. We helped cement his rule by blowing up a girls elementary school, scorching their skies, and cutting off their water. We should expect retaliation—and blame Republicans for it.

US political powers failed to hold Trump and his administration accountable for crimes in America, so now we have crimes on people of other nations. War crimes. International crimes. Thus expanding the list of potential bodies that can hold law breakers to account. They must.

Would it have been so much worse if it had been a nuke? Consider the fact that birth deficiencies and rates of leukemia and cancer in Iraq, post 2003- invasion, are worse than what was observed in Hiroshima. In Japan, rates of leukemia rose by 660% in the years following the bomb. In Falluja, it increased by 2,200%. The toxicity of war has never been greater, and we are in no way reckoning with the scope of the horror that's been unleashed.

The real damage comes years later, with elevated cancer rates, leukemia clusters, respiratory disease, cardiovascular failure, neurological damage, reproductive issues.

This is chemical warfare, with delayed carnage. Worse than radiation sickness.

I am ashamed to be American today.

Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
