At night, they stay curled together, both feeling the baby’s warm sense of comfort and joy as they each lay a talon over Blitzø’s stomach, both praying that somehow, some way, they’ll all be free before the birth so the baby will never know the pain and trauma of being locked in a cage as a “freak”.

Oh yes, and it gets worse when he turns into a monster himself due to the baby. He’s two feet taller, more birdlike, and can’t speak anymore, just animal sounds. People constantly poke and prod or pelt him with popcorn, all while Stolas tries to protect him by making himself the bigger target.

They’ll try to foster her resentment and mold her so that when Stolas finally comes back, she’ll be just as petty, cruel, and eager to see him miserable as they are, so he’ll spend the rest of eternity alone and miserable in his mansion, constantly reminded of how he “threw it all away” for Blitzø.

I bet that once Via gets a taste of why Stolas didn’t tell her anything and why he took those pills (since I bet she’ll start to rely on them herself once the strain and misery of everything finally gets to her), I bet she’ll try to escape and admit she was wrong, or at least after being rescued.

Exactly - once she turns 18, she’ll be forced to take Stolas’ position and live the life he tried to shield her from: a life of duty and obligation in a golden jail, stuck with a husband she never wanted and a child she was forced to have solely to make sure there’s an heir waiting in the wings.

Let’s face it, this is what was going through his head:

Omg, Blitzø realizing that Stolas felt the way he used to, like everything was transactional and based on being “useful”, and telling him that he doesn’t have to give him anything because he doesn’t NEED anything!

I get the feeling that once the heat of the moment fades, Blitzø’s gonna realize that he acted the same as her, just as resentful and jealous and bitter over a seemingly “better”/“good enough” person appearing to “steal” Stolas’ attention/affections away, and HEAVILY regret it once he does.
