My best solution after much soul searching:

We do to the Democratic Party what the Republicans did to theirs, that turned it into a unilateral, all-powerful dictatorship.

We purge every last goddamned "adult in the room"

We replace them with unhinged, activist "bomb-throwers"

We gum up the govt.

I hesitate to say this (again!) because I realize it sounds cynical BUT...

The fascists at the wheel (TRUMP) really don't care if you're lighting up the phones on Capitol Hill or filling the streets with 7M protestors as in "No Kings".

They've already got the gig. We can just "talk to the hand".

If it's possible that anyone can ever right this ship, it's going to be the women. I say this as a being who's been around observing humanity longer than most buildings.

Oh they do. They're just not in a position to do Jack Squat about amy of it.

We're HARDLY numb! We're sick at heart.

But we're not the ones with any say in the matter and that is what's freaking us out.

If they're the right kind of children, of course they don't count as humans.

Bibi's killing lots of them in Gaza and he sleeps just fine.

That seems very reasonable. Now ask yourself: if you were a dark troll of the Republican Party, wouldn't you be working overtime behind the scenes to make sure that the Dems nominated someone they were confident they could beat, or a candidate who if he became POTUS wouldn't cripple their agenda?

"We will have casualties, and children will be killed, but seriously, why would I care?"

Is it naive to say that at this point the world's superpowers gauge their strength by how many of the enemy's children they deliberately kill as a form of terror? And that it's a feature and not a bug ("We only go after military targets...")?

How is it controversial that you don't kill children?😭

It was the late '60s or early '70s that RKO General finally decided to dig this film out of Hearst's mothballs where he had removed it from circulation and show it on their NYC TV station without commercials.

The "Citizen Kane" mania began right about then...a good 30 years or so after it was made.

Decades ago, I lived in Austin and worked on West Sixth Street. I did my share of partying on Sixth Street which was a happy fun place that everyone loved; live entertainment, cool little shops, great bars.

When I see news like this it stops me in my tracks because that was my 'hood, more or less.

I don't know how to say this and make you understand: while you of course should not expect straight party line Democratic voting to produce a great lawmaker, there is absolutely no reason to vote for a Republican. Ever. Under any circumstances. Especially now that the masks are off (or ON actually)

As I didn't (wouldn't) read this, did the @nypost.com frame this as a "Local boy makes good" story?

I ask because I'm still awaiting their Gratuitous Mamdani Slam of the day (see below for the Motherlode of those!):

My understanding is if our country is under imminent danger of attack, the prez does not have to brief Congress before a preemptive strike.
