I see this so often from many publications. It is frustrating!

The same goes for legislation and admin rules under consideration or that have been decided. These should be named with relevant numbers and direct links to the items. Local and state levels, too.

Killing is bad, and to that end I'd like to call attention to the dozens killed in small boats in the southern Caribbean by the Trump Administration and the estimated 600,000 who've died of preventable disease and starvation thanks to the administration's destruction of USAID.

So long as it’s the biggest industry, threatening the economy, local health, and tons of creative and other industries, no one has the responsibility individually to call out nuanced benefits and no one enjoying those narrow benefits should be trying to convince rightly angry people to calm down.

People will die, and are currently dying, because RFK was granted one of the most powerful megaphones in the country. Two people who could have thrown barriers in front of his climb decided not to; there's a sex scandal here but it is not the biggest scandal.

Three babies in Kentucky have died of whooping cough.

They weren’t vaccinated and neither were their mothers.

This is RFK Jr’s legacy. A trail of dead kids who never had a chance.

They didn’t get to decide about vaccination. Adults chose for them & they paid with their life.

All in all, let’s note one important factor - Russia, the murderer and agressor, was not asked or pressured to consider, and as a result, has not even slightly indicated ANY interest in just peace or ceasefire.

That is THE bottom line.

Journalists - if the person you are all trying to question insults one of your peers and them comes to you, the only reasonable response is to defer back to the insulted journo or to repeat their question. It’s not just about integrity - our main job is to make sure difficult questions are answered

I know there is a lot to doomscroll right now, but you need to plan some sort of offline activity and go do it.

Walking outside, going to a museum, cleaning your home, taking a nap, cooking some food, buying your favorite pastry; lots of options.

It'll feel better than more time on your phone.

Please stop using language that suggests that people with criminal records are appropriate targets for this administration's violence. One in three adults has a criminal record. Stop playing sacrifice games with fascists. Stop surrendering entire categories of people in your own mind.

It's maddening that elected officials choose to not only see the kidnapping and disappearance of members of our community as an inevitability that they can't do anything about, but then blame protesters for cops choosing to attack them. This is Olympic level gaslighting

Here’s a great example of Homeland Security and Tricia McLaughlin propaganda not being true. They’re going around claiming credit for Chicago experiencing the fewest summer murders since 1965. That was true and reported locally before Midway Blitz even began.

And yes it matters to still DO politics and this is part of that. I think it's strange when people say 'nothing matters' when in fact anything done in a sustained fashion matters to someone over time.

Democrats at every level of power could simply repeat "he must resign" over and over and over again. It's what the GOP would do if the situation were reversed. Further erode his power by pushing him to lash out more.

Part of the answer is to tax the wealthiest corporations with the community safety surcharge

The solution is clear: tax the most wealthy corporations in the city. Alders just need to find the courage to stand up to the rich and their lobbyists.

They could also pack the House by expanding the size of the lower chamber. Because House seats are apportioned by population, generally more populous blue states would gain the most seats. Since the number of competitive House seats has steadily declined, this would allow Democrats to employ aggressive gerrymandering to create a virtually unbreakable House majority.
This would also allow them to shift the electoral college. Because the size of the electoral college is determined by the size of each state's Senate and House delegations, they would be able to increase the number of blue-state electors as well. The electoral-college weight of Senate seats - equal among all states under our federal system - would be diminished, while the weight of House seats would rise. And if D.C. and Puerto Rico were added as states, the Democrats would add to their strength in the House (with new members from hoth places) and
