I'm struggling to get over what we saw today.

The amount of gaslighting, cruelty, ignorance, abject cowardice, arrogance, indifference to human life, and deceit we saw from Trump and Vance...we saw behavior we associate with enemies of the United States inside the Oval Office.

That's traumatizing.

This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode the deficit.

3) Demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

They're trying to get away with it again.

Kanzi the bonobo

I missed the news that Kanzi passed away last month at the age of 44. He was a bonobo & a hugely important individual in the study of comparative intelligence and language use. I first read about him in Sue Savage-Rumbaugh's book more than 30 years ago, and am moved to learn of his passing! R.I.P.

This Is What Democracy Looks Like The energy is building

It was hard to hear many of the speakers. The PA system wasn’t up to the task, but it didn’t matter. We, the people, aren’t being led so much as we are leading. The most unifying moment I felt was when the chant went up from the crowd, “This is what democracy looks like.” Indeed.

You may be fearing your 401k is no longer enough for you to retire. But with all the cuts to NIH and Medicare you also won't live as long. So the policies are integrated.

Why is the media talking like there’s some sense to be made of this? We have a an arrogant old madman at the wheel, probably suffering from some level of dementia, and intent on driving us off a cliff! No sense. No logic.

I’ve quit him when he started to drag the s**t out of Harris and Walz. What was he thinking?
