This is the problem with American exceptionalism. We think we know best. Many countries have higher literacy rates, higher life expectancy and lower healthcare costs. We should be referring to them for examples. Americans don’t have the experience to solve these problems.

When my kids were younger and I’d find a moment alone (at home or visiting family), I’d sneakily take these Sherman inspired “film stills”. It felt weirdly transgressive to make them without getting caught posing.
