Google doc. Boring but practical. Just a list - I highlight the ones I like the most in case anyone asks me for recommendations

If I was picking person of the year, without a shadow of a doubt, it would be Gisele Pelicot. She has and will change things around the world.

Paul Heaton is an absolute legend. Saw him tonight, Hammersmith Apollo. Amazing. So nostalgic for my teenage and university years.

Lewisham, London. 2 big bins (black for general, green for recycling). And a smaller grey bin for food waste.

You can also get a brown bin for garden waste on request (for a charge I think). I don't need that.

Alt text on images makes a real difference for people with visual impairments and anyone that could do with a bit more context. If you go to menu > settings > accessibility you can β€œrequire alt text before posting” to basically force yourself to remember to do it.

I created a web accessibility and inclusion starter pack. Comment with your favourite accessibility folks, and I'll add them to the list. #a11y

New young drivers should not have under-21s as passengers, says AA It is also proposed that under-21s could lose their licences for not wearing a seatbelt.

The infantalisation of fully grown adults is relentless.

"There are not many times when having to take your friends in the car is a necessity. It’s to protect drivers, it’s to save lives, and what is the alternative?"

Don't drive like a twat?

It's a shared garden and the landlord maintains it. Haven't had any problems with this arrangement up to now (been here 10 years)

My landlord's cut down all the bushes and shrubs in the garden. For no good reason. Where are all the birds going to go? - presumably not our garden any more 😒

Public libraries in 'crisis' as councils cut services Deprived communities lost more libraries since 2016 than richer areas did, the BBC finds

Use your libraries. Books, newspapers, magazines, warm spaces, family history, literacy and financial support, community meet ups, events.

Authors, use them for book talks. You’ll be championed and invited back whenever possible.
