02.02.2026 10:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Winter visitor to the night skies of the UK & a first for me (which there are lots of with astro photography). This nebula is called Thors Helmet or NGC2359. It's a striking emission nebula found within the constellation Canis Major. #nebula #ngc2359 #astrophotography #ThorsHelmet #space #deepsky

Window to the universe.
A late night visit to #monument_rocks in #Kansas to shoot the #milkyway. The archway makes for a wonderful natural frame for the #stars to sit in. #astrophotography #universe #nightsky #astro #space #starlight #nightphotography #longexposure

long exposure #photography at Hartland Quay, North #Devon. Using a #superstopper by @leefilter.bsky.social my shutter was open for 10 minutes to create the #ghostly mist around the rocks.

17.02.2025 17:09 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Had a crack at shooting #NGC7380 also known as the Wizard Head nebula from my garden in #Essex. It took 7200 light years to reach my camera sensor & 10 hours of exposure time to make this image. One to revisit as my skills & knowledge improve. #astro #astrophotography #space #stars #nebula #bortle5

I can confirm it is in fact βtatersβ & the coldest night of the year.
Trying to shoot a non visible nebula (Witch Head Nebula), only time will tell if itβs been a success or not once Iβve run the data through a programme but only if Iβve pointed the lens in the correct part of the sky π€£
Minor Blog update to my website. If you're bored & have nothing to do please feel free to give it a look. www.peterscott.photography/blog
28.12.2024 16:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Always fancied trying this location with Aurora but as you say, Gullfoss makes so much water that the wind has to be blowing in the right direction to keep the lens dry. Great job π
22.12.2024 16:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you, I never grow tired of watching the Aurora
22.12.2024 16:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#Aurora meets the ground. I wanted to give a different perspective to the usual view of aurora arc & used a 100mm lens to fill the frame with colour & show other qualities of the aurora. Taken at #Skaftafell #Galcier in #Iceland. #astrophotography #photography #spaceweather #nightsky #space
