As soon as I escaped the gravitational pull of those around me, I was able to connect with people that genuinely cared for me.

I never felt that I changed very much, but assumed I must have. How else would this be possible? But no, I think toxic people just sort of gravitate together and it can make it seem inescapable, like everyone is like that. But the same can be said for kind people.

After a few years, I eventually found myself in my own place with my own things making my own decisions. And one thing really hit me: I was universally adored by everyone I met.

Then on my 18th birthday, I filled a backpack with some things and literally walked away from it all.

I grew up around very traditional people and I felt universally hated. Always hearing that good things were wasted if I got them. Always being looked at with disgust. Always left out.

I think its less that I've changed and more that the people I surrounded myself with changed.

This is so incredibly good. Not only does it sound cyberpunk as hell, its fascinating to watch it happen.

The saga continues. Bought a 3rd party joycon to be my dedicated MIDI controller controller, hall effect sticks already included! I think I might prefer this to a regular pitch wheel.
