It was wonderful to join residents at the Saragahri Mounment in Wednesfield, outside of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara. It was fantastic to address the crowd and join people in paying our respect to the fallen soldiers. It was fantastic to see the regiment march and hear from the bugler.

🌟 You may have seen Colleen Green on This Morning, receiving the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award – I had the privilege of congratulating her in person.

Colleen has given an incredible 55 years to Beacon Academy – from pupil at age 3 (her mum was the school cook!) to Assistant Headteacher.🏅

To mark the start of Black History Month, last week I popped down to our fantastic art gallery in Wolverhampton.
It is fantastic to walk into the Gallery and be greeted with the amazing statue of Mel Chevannes CBE, the first Afro-Caribbean to become a Councillor in Wolverhampton!

For an MP, weekends often mean getting on the doorstep and speaking to residents, so it was fantastic to be in Heath Town recently!

It was an absolute honour to be a guest at the amazing Wolverhampton Young Citizen of the Year awards run by the fantastic Rotary Clubs in the city.

Held in the stunning Chancellor's Hall at the University, we celebrated the 12th year of these awards, and of course the winners and runners up!

It was lovely to be at the Low Hill 100 Celebration at Low Hill Library. We heard poetry and learnt all about the history of the wonderful building, and the wider estate. It was a fantastic morning, and the exhibition will be staying until the end of the month for anybody who wants to check it out.

It was an emotional day in Parliament as Johanna Baxter MP hosted a screening of “Children in the Fire: Ukraine’s War” followed by a Q&A with three of these children. Vlad, Valeria and Roman shared their own experience having being forcibly transferred into Russia.

A lovely afternoon at Willenhall Chart Community Hub for Together in Bloom – showcasing amazing local talent in art, photography and poetry.

A special shout-out to Saida Chowdury on launching her debut collection of poems, Broken Minds, a moving collection from depression to love and strength.

I was delighted to have the chance to meet one of our amazing Lionesses, Lucy Bronze MBE and discuss grassroots sports facilities.
Organisations like the football foundation often have funding available, and the Sports England Movement Fund has opportunities too.

I was thrilled to attend the inaugural meeting for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Equitable Governance, supported by Women on Boards CIC.

This new group will be championing gender equality and strengthening governance!

I joined the launch of The UK Sepsis Trust’s "It’s Game On for Sepsis Awareness," led by Harry Redknapp, whose wife Sandra developed sepsis from a kidney infection.
It was also inspiring to hear from Craig Mackinlay who shared his experience.

I was thrilled to attend the Broadway Gardens Summer Fête, and getting to spend time chatting with the residents!

I was glad to hear the event raised plenty of money towards a community defibrillator at the medical centre! It was wonderful to see all of the stalls, music, and conversations.

Proud to support the incredible work of Young Lives vs Cancer. We discussed the impact of cancer on education and the vital support young people need across school, hospital, and home.

On Friday evening, I was thrilled to attend the University of Wolverhampton’s Beyond Futures Research & Enterprise Awards. This was an amazing event, recognising the amazing staff, students, and researchers at the University, and hearing about their research which is changing lives across the globe.

Last month, I was thrilled to host a round table event, right here in Wolverhampton North East at the Science Park. We brought together the Breaking Down Barriers Commission and the Purpose Coalition, alongside local stakeholders.

I had an absolutely fantastic day at Willenhall Lockstock which returned yet agaIn! And it wasn't just me enjoying it as over 4,000 people came to Willenhall Memorial Park. What a turn out!
