What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?

It seems to me that many people don’t understand that TikTok was more than a social media app with dance videos.

Most people who are upset about the TikTok ban were also upset about Trump’s immunity. TikTok was the public forum that Americans used to share those grievances. Also, censorship is unequivocally undemocratic.
