Trying to explain my energy limitations to people without ME/CFS is the one thing that sort of makes it understandable for me why so many people are rolling the dice with infinite covid

They truly do not have a mental model for a body that sometimes requires you to budget even conversational energy

The entire responsibility of handling Covid was offloaded on to the individual and they were told to “assess your own personal risk”, while simultaneously NOT informing the individual of actual risk - such as unseen, cumulative vascular and neurological damage, risk of long covid in kids, etc.

It's a relatively small sample size but holy moly people are feeling really emotionally delicate this morning and it would probably be a good idea to lead with kindness and understanding if you can

It takes a lot of emotional energy to 'decode' emotional subtext that I no longer have, and there's no guarantee I'll even do it correctly. Guessing games can lead to misinterpretation. Just best to ask directly overall, and to request others being direct! It's a good lesson to learn.

I’m going to say this louder this time: if you are lying about having a high-risk condition to get a Covid vaccine, all good, do what you want to do BUT show some actual goddamn respect for people who *actually* have that condition and start masking.
