That’s the work you do during the week, not during the game. If you want to shout at footballers, go to your local pro match; they are paid (and prepared) to cope with your ‘comments’. Also, don’t cheer kids for heading the ball, it is really bloody bad for their brains. Stop rewarding it.Rant over.

Dads, seriously. It’s u13 football. The team doesn’t need 8 coaches. It is minus 2 plus windchill. How easy would it be for you to “keep your movement going” for 70mins? Also, “I’ll come on the pitch and sort out your body language” is unhelpful. Do you think they want to be losing 9-0?

Excellent book

I don’t think my students would believe the extreme sweet eating I get up to whist marking their essays. Imagine if I put on their comments: “Marked with the assistance of a handful of nuts, 3 chewits and a chupa chup”. I’m gonna be a house end, or diabetic, by the end of this.

It’s just not cricket…in so many ways 🏏
