We won't forget what happened on Jan. 6. We won't forget the false ICE detentions and deaths, the constant lies, the corruption, the appointment of fools to cabinet positions, the self-puffery. And we won't forget that he reinstalled a Confederate statue. Memory is the first step towards justice.

I'd like an energy based standard. Minerals are finite resources that can fluctuate in value depending on technology, scarcity, etc. But we'll always need power. Perhaps we could base units on photovoltaic generation.

Yesterday was rainy so my walk was in a shopping mall. Remarkable how few of the stores sold anything I cared about. Some good people watching opps, though, and the aroma of cinnamon buns. I can enjoy that without eating any. Buns or people, to be clear.

I'm politically sickened and tired. But San Jose State doesn't play today which ensures a satisfactory outcome and tonight we're having Mandarin chicken and spring rolls. Taking consolation where it can be found.

Perhaps. Wondering, though. Too many drank the Kool Aid.

After a walk this afternoon, enjoyed the Tumwater branch of the Timberland Library (a regional system). Browsed for an hour. Borrowed a book. I love the serendipity of wandering through the stacks and chancing upon an unexpected good. Question: does Trump read? I don't mean for pleasure.

One of the themes at my protest was a general strike. I'll push for that or something like it.

Partial disagree. Signups and networking for future action are great, of course, and I saw some happening yesterday in Olympia. But the protests do other things. They are good for the morale of participants and are inexpensive publicity. They also are storm warnings for persuadable lawmakers.

A mix of evergreen and deciduous trees in fall red and yellow, taken on today's walk. I got flu and COVID vaccines and then accessed a segment of the Chehalis Western Trail from the medical office parking lot. A calming walk, in part because I had just defied RFK Jr.

From today's walk by the south end of Capitol Lake, Olympia. Plenty of ducks in there--magnify to see them. They don't like to be near humans, evidently, and even though their judgment is based on vast generalizations, I see their point.

Today's walk was through a cemetery and I took no pics to allow the dead some privacy, which is relative since their names are etched in stone on public display. Lots of Herberts died about a hundred years ago. Nearly everything is temporary including our pain and woes--sometimes that's comforting.

At the Pacific Lutheran University football game against Williamette. The home team is behind 21-14 about half way through the third quarter but is playing with determination though maybe not as much talent as their opponent. The game has a fun small-town feel.
