A policy that ostensibly is intended to protect the practice from legal issues if they mishandle medicaid-patient paperwork, in practice serves to make medical and psychiatric care even more inaccessible to #chronicallyill and #disabled folk who have to rely on insurance that is not employer based.

Something I’ve learned on this foray into being poor, unemployed and on #medicaid for the first time in over 15 years is that many medical, and especially #psychiatric providers are not only out of network for medicaid, but have adopted blanket policies to refuse selfpay from those patients.

Its so bad. Im pretty sure the threads algorithm is weighted towards showing people things that will get them angry enough to go rabid in someone’s comments.

Im getting rejection letters for jobs I applied to in August. I have heard nothing but crickets from places I’ve applied to since being laid off in October, with one exception: companies that want me to do the work of training AI to do the job I cant get hired for. This timeline is bullshit.

If we had our say they would have been prosecuted after the first term. Democrats in power failed to hold them accountable and left the door open for what’s happening now. We don’t need empty promises of accountability, we need leaders with a clear plan for how it happens and the will to pursue it.
