Some days it really feels like the same powerful people who claim to not believe in climate science and the coming catastrophes are simultaneously finding new and horrible ways to cull our population of the burdensome folk who wont make good slaves in their bunkers.

The absurdity of living in a country that demands we tie access to healthcare to our ability to work, but not that employers provide affordable health options to all employees, nor affordable transitional coverage after layoffs, and now wants to make it inaccessible to buy insurance on our own…

Im having the kind of day where you finally have your coffee in front of you at almost 1pm and you look at it and think “dont knock that over” 60 seconds before swinging your fist into the glass.

And yet one day we will undoubtedly be told we aren’t mourning him correctly.

Today’s goal is to look at my budget and see what I can cut or refinance to make things work while im on unemployment. And im trying to see if I can negotiate any wiggle room on getting my health coverage extended in my severance package. Trying real hard not to panic/shut down.

As the rare autistic person who has managed to hold on to long term employment, going through my first layoff 15 years into my career feels like a gut punch. And the severance offer is paltry for the job market im being let go into. Trying not to panic 😵‍💫
