happy 17th birthday, Resident Evil 5!
I don't think I'll ever pass up an opportunity to replay this game lmao
every single bit of its getting gobbled up like PLEASE take advantage of my lifelong dedication to this shit, I WILL BUY IT
04.03.2026 08:57 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0genuinely insane. I really, REALLY hope they capitalize on all the success and hype and go all out with its DLC offerings. RE5 DLC, RE7 DLC and Separate Ways spoiled me rotten. Give us THAT kind of quality and volume, PLEEEEAASEEEEEEE
04.03.2026 08:52 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0it's actually rather inspiring in this current landscape of gaming, especially when you take into account the reports of them upping the pay of their employees like every single year. Capcom just straight up seem unstoppable nowadays. And we still have Pragmata AND Onimusha this year!
04.03.2026 08:09 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0the RE Engine era in general has just been astronomically successful for them. Every modern RE sells 10+ million copies (used to be a rarity), they saved Street Fighter, Monster Hunter is a sales beast, DMC5 is the best selling DMC and they're still taking chances w/ brand new IPs like Pragmata

04.03.2026 07:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I could cry. Resident Evil is legitimately just more popular than ever, 30 years in. And it is so fucking deserved π

02.03.2026 07:59 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0I'm still so hopeful for Jill to return someday soon. There's always hope for Requiem DLC, though I suspect if we do get some there are likelier candidates to appear. If anything, Leon getting another starring role after 7/8 focused on a new cast at least tells me they're not finished with the OGs
01.03.2026 08:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0agreed!
01.03.2026 08:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0yesssss what I really loved about it was that, unlike Grace's main area and Leon's main area, this one really felt shared between the two. Like both of their differing styles of gameplay were still highlighted and both were given a solid amount to do. It was a surprisingly lengthy ending area, too!
01.03.2026 08:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm still digesting everything and going for 100% but I'd say it's my favorite numbered title since OG RE4 and possibly my second favorite of the RE Engine titles, so it ranks pretty highly as of right now
01.03.2026 07:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I know a lot of fans often find the final areas of Resident Evil games to be the weakest parts (not me, RE4 Island lover til the day I die) but I'd be a lil surprised if people feel that way about Requiem's. Aesthetically and gameplay wise it featured some of my favorite moments in the entire game!
01.03.2026 06:21 β π 15 π 0 π¬ 5 π 0and so begins the grind to 100% and platinum Requiem π₯Έ excited asf to wear all these alt costumes π

27.02.2026 00:00 β π 3021 π 1037 π¬ 4 π 0it honors and reflects the entire franchise, with no regret towards any of what came before. Numbered titles, spin-offs, CGI, live action movies, there's shades of anything and everything that's worn the name "Resident Evil." All while just being a really fantastic game with its own merits, too.

this is a Resident Evil game made to be the most Resident Evily Resident Evil game ever made. And I cannot think of any better way to celebrate 30 years of the most iconic horror video game franchise than with a game that, to put it simply, loves being Resident Evil.
goddamn.
RE Requiem, thus far, is stellar. Really can't be overstated how well they've handled the differentiation between Grace and Leon. That intense, overwhelming, classic survival horror feeling for Grace's sections, and then the cathartic brutality that Leon brings. It's working REALLY well for me.

26.02.2026 00:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0time for some ultra sincerity, it does genuinely affect me to see Resident Evil still thriving + creating games that people love all while finding new heights of success.
