Husband is still intermittently hallucinating, and apparently I am now a warrior of light in a war of meat vs machine. So that's interesting.

In theory they are nonetheless sending him home today, since physically he is as recovered as he's going to get, and he'll be much more comfortable at home.

I am going to be so pissed if all the evil people in power outlive my husband. I know that fate doesn't work that way, but it just seems deeply unfair.

He has also been intermittently describing the new comic he's apparently been inspired to write. He cannot reliably hold a pen and has maybe days to weeks to live, but inspiration has struck. I am taking dictation for him whenever he talks about it, because writers gonna write no matter what.

My husband's brain metastasis and/or plentiful pain meds are giving him hallucinations, and right now he is describing the loading screen and electronic information windows he's seeing over reality.

Sadly, it wasn't even that they wouldn't build killbots. They explicitly offered to help the government develop killbots!

What they wouldn't do was rush unreliable killbots to production without fixing the margin for error.

They can excuse killbots, but they draw the line at running bad data.

I've seen at least half a dozen of my Bluesky mutuals joke about someone "being in the files" for innocuous reasons such as their work being casually mentioned in a marketing email... without realizing that THEY TOO are in the files because their work was casually mentioned in a marketing email.

But SQH fought the monsters to protect the apprentices at the IAC. He leapt off a mountain for MBJ. He put himself in the line of fire to coordinate Shen Yuan's escape plan. He even scolded Shen Jiu.

And even when he had thoroughly hooked and beguiled Shen Yuan... He still couldn't interest him in reading the whole story. He lost out to Xiang Fei AGAIN, because Shen Yuan loved reading Airplane's version, no matter how much he claims otherwise. He did it more than once. But he refused Bingzu's.

Nobody ever tells Shang Qinghua what a badass he is and so he simply does not know. He only sees the fear and struggle, not the effect.

But Bingzu had to bring in a whole new person to manipulate to achieve his goals because he lost the battle for the story with Xiang Fei TWICE.

Shang Qinghua really did Batman out of the rafters, light the place on fire, face off against a demon prince to protect his boss, then turn around and demand his boss call him daddy before walking away... all while considering himself a justified coward.

Triss lights into them about not realizing a teenage girl might need menstrual leave and they're all supremely embarrassed, not by the gross femaleness of it, but because they didn't think to be appropriately considerate on their own. They then immediately correct for it with no trace of disdain.

I kinda love the family of witchers and their friendly neighborhood sorceress all trying to raise Ciri. The witchers have absolutely no idea how to raise a princess, but they know how to raise witchers and are doing their best to adapt that in a way that is really very sweet compared to the show.
