I wish I could learn every language.

That would be my superpower. Maybe not the most useful, it wont make me rich or powerful or let me fight evil or anything like that.

But i could talk to all kinds of neat people & i could read things in their original language & visit places easily.

I think there is a particular mindset that causes people to think it's more important to speak using the language of progressivism than advance actually progressive arguments and it's particularly prevalent in instagram-sharable theorizing like this

The vast majority of medical transition is built on using things off label. Basically nobody develops & produces medication specifically for trans people, most surgical procedures are also slightly adapted procedures for cis people (though we have some more bespoke procedures in this case).

Anyways, grateful to have parents who love & support me & don't put up with this kind of bullshit

TIL that my mum has had to argue with multiple therapists because after telling them about her trans daughter, they would insist on calling me her son.

She told me about this like transphobic therapists were some big revelation & all I had for her was a tired shrug cause whats next, water is wet?

Anyways, shout out to my GP, who got really fucking angry today, when i told her how my first endocrinologist, when i was trying to get on hormones, felt the need to manually examin my genitalia to make sure i wasnt intersex (next to karyotyping me), before writing the prescription.

There is something so special to me about watching a cis person show genuine empathy for my experiences as a trans woman. Not "ugh, that sucks" but tears of rage or actually losing control a little when confronted with a trans experience.

My bar might be low, but those moments stick with me.

I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.
