Finished playing F.E.A.R. 2 Reborn not long ago on the hardest difficulty.

The game is decently challenging but the final fight is quite bs ngl.

This DLC doesn't offer anything new whatsoever, apart from the fact you finally get to play as a Replica soldier. Below average product, 4/10.

I for one, really have appreciation towards you for doing this, because a game that does this very well is South Park The Stick of Truth as well.

Whenever interacting/attacking other NPCs in the game, friendly or not, they would react towards your respective action. It makes the world more alive!

Is it a bunch of extra work to make all friendly NPCs react to Flit's attacks? Yes.
Am I doing it anyway because funny?... Also yes.

I submitted for the first time at Shots Fired Marathon back in March of 2023. Ran GTA 3 Definitive Edition and it was quite a blast to showcase the run live at an online marathon. To this day, I'm still very much grateful for having Mattmatt accepted me at the event to begin with <3

To wrap it off with one final message to this post, I'd like to say that back when I ran this game seriously, I said that I wanted to go for a sub 41 or sub 40. I kept running after getting that 43:22 and didn't see any progress so I decided to quit the game until recently. Now I can quit it forever

For those curious, the fastest time I got during this 1 week grind was a 45:51, which is literally 2 and half mins slower than my current PB from over two years ago. I'm usually able to derust well if I spend an entire week on most games. But unfortunately, that was not the case with Far Cry 1.

The game is fun to run and all at first, but once you get better at it you have to struggle with so many inconsistent strats and a bunch of bullshit RNG that it's not even fun to run. If it had quicksaves, I woulda still ran it, but otherwise? No thanks. Plus, it's a bitch to derust.

I have respect for Chief's incentive to begin with, but from what I've seen so far, only 3 people (me included) bothered to run the game ever since the incentive was announced. It's quite a shame that not a lot of people bother to run it though.

After having spent the entirety of the past week derusting and running Far Cry 1, I can safely declare that I don't want to touch the game ever again. To be sincere, I had my share of fun here and there, but 90% of the experience was so brutal and unfun to go through so I decided to officially quit.

Tbh, I wanted sub 40 in FC1 back when I ran it, but the game became so not fun to run at some point after my last PB, that I ended up quitting there.

If I join this contest, I'll have to do another masochist grind like I did for F.E.A.R. lol.

Honestly very indecisive about this, but I'll think about it more in the following weeks.

Obi and I are quite far behind, but I'm sure we can catch up since there's been quite a few new strats and skips which have been found in the past year, though it will be tough. And I'm positive that Doze has the greatest odds of winning.

The deadline for when we have to beat HardLife's run is December 1st, but the contest's deadline is January 1st, 2026.

From all the runners featured in the pic, me, Obi and Doze have shown interest atp, but I'm sure that most others will also join in.

This game compared to F.E.A.R. has no quicksaving, but it does have quickloading through the menu, and it's more of a bitchy run when compared to F.E.A.R. overall lol.

No wonder I stopped right away after getting the time you see that I have for 10th place at this point.

So ChiefSupreme from the CryRunning Speedrunning community has come up today with an idea to give a $500 prize to anyone who manages to beat HardLife's current WR from Far Cry 1 Any% Unrestricted.

I used to speedrun it years ago and I'm honestly surprised that I'm still in the top 10 even right now
