I've been wearing both my hearing aids all day today, which I rarely do, and feeling very bionic. Getting blips in my ear when I get a text message. Controlling the volume of my surroundings with an app on my phone. Directing the microphones so I could hear behind me.

Forgive the screenshot of Facebook, but this memory today prompted me to check and even I was surprised by how much higher the mortality rate was and is.

I am so tired and bored of talking about AI and Gen AI. I need to touch grass.

I made delicious food for my besties. We had a sleepover at an Airbnb so we could have a proper catch up. It was brilliant.

Joined my local gym last week. Tried a "ladies who lift" class today. Absolutely humiliating, reminded me why I loathe classes. Nothing to do with the instructor or anyone else, I am just not suited to the gym class format.

Had an ultrasound on a lump on my thyroid. It's not cancer. I cried anyway, because scans = trauma for me. Have perked up now.

I wish there was a way to mute the word "cancer" IRL. I've had cancer 3 times, and I do not want to watch or read about it. I have to avert my eyes for my mental health. But it's everywhere.

It's my birthday tomorrow, but all my plans got cancelled because my husband is ill. Doing my level best not to be a dick about it.

Ouch. I wrote to my team yesterday "It's been so grey recently, anyone done anything nice lately? Or planning to?". Zero response.

Today is the 15 year anniversary of the day I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. It was one of the best days of my life. Raising her has been and continues to be the best thing I've ever done.

I've scored audience tickets for a filming of QI in March. A fun thing to do for free.

Surely the answer to that job centre complaint is "Believe disabled people when they say they can't work" and not "Spend more time finding nonexistent jobs".

I paid £15 for a mug today. So who's the real mug, eh? Eh?

Today completes my Dry January. I've done it before but it's always been a struggle - this year I barely noticed. No idea what's changed. Age, maybe? I probably won't drink for another few weeks anyway. Cheers!
