Bringing you an update on the National Guard from my run yesterday.

I have been practicing law for more than 25 years. I have never seen more disgraceful, downright obnoxious, and unethical conduct from an attorney than what we saw today from Trump's corrupt and arrogant Attorney General, Pamela Bondi.

Why didn't Democratic Senators ask Pam Bondi why she didn't prosecute Jeffrey Epstein when she was Florida's Attorney General from 2011 to 2019 at the very time he was running his child sex ring in Florida?!!

Whitehouse: "The supposed contribution made to me by some Epstein person is actually not true. It's false. So, weird when an AG of the US comes to the Judiciary Committee & makes false allegations about a senator - demonstrably false - rather than answer a simple Q: Is there a picture, or no?"

It seems clear—I think to everyone, now—that a false and illegal invocation of the Insurrection Act is coming before the end of the year. Media outlets should be telling us how they will prepare for this potential Treason. State governments should be telling us. Activists should be developing plans.

BREAKING: Stephen Miller—both Trump Administration capo and de facto head of DHS, ICE, and DOJ, has just declared that peaceful protesters are "street terrorists." Under an executive order signed by Trump just days ago, that means he is saying that all protesters in America can be arrested on sight.

We are in uncharted waters that would justify application of the statute. We have a Congress rendered dysfunctional by a complicit party of co-conspirators that would never make such a formal declaration. There is nevertheless a de facto state of war. That became clear in the last week.

This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

The president of the United States committed treason today. And that's only what he's done today.

After a federal court blocked his attempt to federalize the Oregon National Guard, Donald Trump is deploying 300 California National Guard personnel into Oregon. They are on their way there now.

We are taking this fight back to court.

It’s true that sometimes the law holds back Trump and affords us some semblance of safety.

But the more we lean into the law as our shield, the more powerful it will become as a sword when Trump changes it in his favor and wields it against us.

Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us.

The very first statute authorizing domestic use of the military during domestic emergencies, enacted in 1792 by a Congress full of the same folks who wrote and ratified the Constitution, expressly provided for judicial review in certain circumstances *before* the President could even send troops.

If not, then they should quit their jobs now.

If the government of the United States, i.e., our corrupted DOJ, fails or refuses to prosecute ICE's crimes against humanity, that's not the end of it. Under the legal principle of universal jurisdiction, other nations may investigate and prosecute such crimes. ICE agents should be mindful of this.

Trump and his violent, criminal cabal are suffering from the childish delusion that they have a complete monopoly on the use of force. Like so many despotic regimes, they, too, will learn that they are gravely mistaken.

The rule of law means that civilians who commit crimes are prosecuted in courts of law with benefit of due process. Extrajudicial executions in international waters are an affront to our Constitution and the law of nations. It isn’t national defense. It’s murder.

I'll tell you what, there's going to come a day when some of these people, these God damn fascists travel overseas, and they're going to be snatched up by countries like Spain or Germany or the UK and sent to The Hague. Mark my words. Universal jurisdiction is a bitch.
