So they had protected status, meaning they were in the US legally?

I feel we are all at Idgaf, but we need to go harder!

If the US could make its own chips, we wouldn’t need to have that outsourced. They can make wafers all day long, but the breakdown and programming of chips has been largely outsourced.

I personally prefer β€œThe Bigot Bungalow” or β€œThe Racist Retreat.”

Aztec dancers in large, colorful feather headdresses. They dance in front of a drummer in a cowboy hat, western style boots, wearing sunglasses. The day is sunny.

An empty amusement park carousel. There are no people. The photo is an eerie depiction of Covid era isolation.

An amusement park security guard where’s a thick blue face mask to protect himself from Covid infection. He stares piercingly into the camera.

Two small, African American children sit alone on a surfboard shaped bench. Behind them, the usually crowded beach is nearly empty. The children look sad and bored. Another depiction of Covid era isolation.

Outside of politics, I dabble in photography, both digital and film. I’ll share a few images here. A few of these are from a short set I shot during a June 2020 visit to the California central coast.

2/2 But this was shortly after the start of the Great Depression and so Mexicans had to go, born here or not. My dad was born in Mexico and came here in his late teens. He should understand the struggle, because dad is Mexican enough to be β€œrepatriated” himself, and that scares me.

I love my dad dearly, but I cannot comprehend his ideas on immigration. My grandmother, the young lady in my avatar, was born in the US , but in 1930, was β€œrepatriated” by the US to a country she had never been to. Her husband at the time, was brought in by bracero’s to work the cotton. 1/2

If you are a liberal parent, keep teaching those kids about kindness, equality, empathy, compassion and respect for others. Travel to other countries, let them read as much as they want so that they have an informed view of the world they live in. This is how we change our country.
