So they had protected status, meaning they were in the US legally?

An empty amusement park carousel. There are no people. The photo is an eerie depiction of Covid era isolation.
An amusement park security guard whereβs a thick blue face mask to protect himself from Covid infection. He stares piercingly into the camera.
Two small, African American children sit alone on a surfboard shaped bench. Behind them, the usually crowded beach is nearly empty. The children look sad and bored. Another depiction of Covid era isolation.

28.01.2025 05:29 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 02/2 But this was shortly after the start of the Great Depression and so Mexicans had to go, born here or not. My dad was born in Mexico and came here in his late teens. He should understand the struggle, because dad is Mexican enough to be βrepatriatedβ himself, and that scares me.
28.01.2025 05:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love my dad dearly, but I cannot comprehend his ideas on immigration. My grandmother, the young lady in my avatar, was born in the US , but in 1930, was βrepatriatedβ by the US to a country she had never been to. Her husband at the time, was brought in by braceroβs to work the cotton. 1/2

Travel to other countries, let them read as much as they want so that they have an informed view of the world they live in. This is how we change our country.
