an extremely mixed reaction on SNL for the arrival of Jack & Quinn Hughes and an extremely not mixed reaction for the arrival of Hilary Knight & Megan Keller

No idea. I just know the roof got restored/refixed. Cubs play there the first full week in April.

Tropicana Field is supposed to re-open this year.

College basketball is a year-to-year sport now. Winning the Crown doesn't mean a damn thing if you have to revamp your entire roster anyway. At least the NCAA Tournament could still be used as a recruiting pitch (not that I think it's a be-all, end-all now for any college kid).

Absolutely not. You take the NCAA Tournament every single time.

I know "Last 10" shouldn't matter big picture, but going into Chicago losing 4 out of 5 and potentially into March Madness losing 5 out of 6 is not ideal.

I'm concerned that they could slip into Play-In territory now after today.

To be fair, Iowa was the 2026 Minnesota/Maryland/Penn State in Fran's first year.

That team also won a bunch of games down the stretch (was the antithesis of the "Fran Fade"). Right now, I feel like the ceiling is an 8 or 9 seed and being podded with a team like Duke, Arizona, or UConn. Unless of course they want to go on a run in Chicago.

28.02.2026 19:04 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

That's the saving grace. An 8 or 9 sharing a pod with a 1 is probably the best case scenario now though barring a run in Chicago.

The stinkiness of the bubble also helps Iowa.

Minnesota, Maryland, and now Penn State. None of them were at Carver, but those are 3 bad losses in league play.

Iowa 46%/32%/89%(9 attempts)
PSU 64%/60%/75% (16 attempts)

Just egregious defensive game

My hunch is Iowa still gets in thanks in large part to beating Nebraska last week. That said, Michigan and Nebraska next week and then the B1G Tournament. Got to win at least one in Chicago now to avoid a 4-game losing streak and sliding onto the bubble.

28.02.2026 18:56 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 1

Welp. That is a bad, bad loss.

Iowa 69, Penn State 69. 8 seconds left. BTN.

I was saying this exact thing in a group text with some buddies the other day. Wanting unity and finding common ground is all fine and well, but going right to that without first addressing all this shit and not holding people accountable for it is repeating the same mistake as before.

Yeah, the defense needs to clamp down here and get a string of stops to ensure they get out with the W.

There’s an increase of activity at the Whipple building today. 50-60+ vehicles have been reported to exist the Whipple building. We need community to be on alert and for neighbors to observe and patrol. Thank you for everyone that continues to support our immigrant neighbors.

That was a great pass to the corner by Stirtz.

Yeah. A 20-plus win B1G team finishing above .500 in league play is safely in now because of the conference being so damn big.

Iowa/Penn State about to start on BTN. If the Hawkeyes win this afternoon, they're in the tournament. Even if they lose both games to Michigan and Nebraska next week and go one-and-done in Indy. They're in.

OCASIO-CORTEZ STATEMENT ON
TRUMP'S COMBAT OPERATIONS IN IRAN
"The American people are once again dragged into a war they did not want by a president who does not care about the long-term consequences of his actions. This war is unlawful. It is unnecessary. And it will be catastrophic.

"Just this week, Iran and the United States were negotiating key measures that could have staved off war. The President walked away from these discussions and chose war instead.President Trump flippantly acknowledged the possibility of American casualties, stating "that often happens in war.'

"Mr. President: this was not an inevitability. This is a deliberate choice of aggression when diplomacy and security were within reach. Stop lying to the American people.

"Violence begets violence. We learned this lesson in Iraq. We learned this lesson in Afghanistan. And we are about to learn it again in Iran. Bombs have yet to create enduring democracies in the region and this will be no different.

"In moments of war, our Constitution is unambiguous: Congress authorizes war. The President does not. I will do my part to uphold our Constitution by voting YES on Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie's War Powers Resolution. Every member of Congress must join us in rejecting this aimless war.

I was at a friend's house one night in 2017. Met a black man from (I think) South Africa. We got into a political discussion and he said something that has stuck with me ever since: "I don't understand how anyone can say they 'don't want to get into politics' when everything is political."

It really is. And even when this shitshow does end, there's so much damage that has to be addressed, both domestic and internationally.
