When a fandom first comes into being, usually the people who came in first are the ones who will be creating the tags, and it's usually an arbitrary process as to when certain tags take off and when some don't.

Some tags aren't necessarily due to malicious reasons, and the lack of certain tags-

Which-ok, that's fine. After all, who am I to police what people say on that hellsite, yknow?

But, first off-maybe this is a controversial opinion, but i don't necessarily think it's healthy to automatically make bad faith assumptions in the way something is done on ao3.

Ngl, Idek why in the world I visit the kimchay tag on tumblr unfiltered anymore, there's always a certain amount of lamenting going on there that, meh...kinda kills the vibe to just chill and talk about the blorbos.

Like, one person was complaining about how fics for the ship are tagged on ao3. 😓
