13.11.2025 19:37 β π 10 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0When responding to skeptics, show them that this already works today and is economically sound.
They won't respond to much other evidence.
As expected, many still just parrot the same tired tropes instead responding to these points head on in good faith.
An income floor is hyper-capital efficient and costs less than what we're spending today on poverty.
UBI dividends give us a stake in natural & publicly created common wealth.
Lots of newcomers to basic income learning the truth:
- 0 studies showed major drop in work
- saves taxpayers $ long-run (cheaper than poverty)
- most Canadians benefited from some sort of basic income (CCB, GIS)
- people in AI pretty much all support UBI
- it's not left or right (see Alaska's UBI)
Working should get more tax relief than gains from owning land. We have it backwards.
11.11.2025 17:53 β π 13 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0Many types of basic income already work today successfully.
Alaska's UBI dividend is being called on as a model for Alberta and US sovereign wealth funds.
A guaranteed income floor is just a negative income tax that would save taxpayers money.

This initiative needs to be sped up and put in place ASAP.

And I wouldn't bet against AI.

Thanks for your hard work Susan.
The first panelists we invited were women, including Minister Boyle who's interested but has a conflict. The LVT-focused advocacy crowd is not the biggest but of course we want to be inclusive.
We'd love to have you be part of this.
The evidence is in favour of basic income
pro-freedom, pro-safety, pro-family, pro-entrepreneurship, pro-jobs, pro-market, pro-dignity
That's what they'll learn

What happens when human labour no longer has economic value due to AI, and how does UBI fit in?
We sat down with @daveshap.bsky.social and Dalibor Petrovic, two people leading the frontier of post-labour economics.

Fair.
Good chance it borrowed language from BC BI Panel. Either way it is normalizing the term basic income in policy documents which hopefully is a good thing.
This is also pretty mainstream centrist policy
04.11.2025 04:37 β π 17 π 4 π¬ 1 π 1BREAKINGπ: 2025 Report of the National Advisory Council on Poverty recommends a basic income floor to ensure everyone reaches at least the poverty line
This is pretty reasonable.
Step One: Fire the human workers and help degrade the total economy with both robotics and AI so now millions of out-of-work Americans donβt have money to spend buying shit on Amazon and also robots cost money but donβt spend money
Step Two: ???
Step Three: Profit!

We're already seeing increasing reports of companies firing, or not hiring, because of AI.
We all know what's coming. All paths to a bright future lead to UBI.
@dannyoleksiuk.bsky.social We're hosting a Housing & LVT panel meetup in at SFU in Burnaby on Nov 27.
Wanted to personally invite you but couldn't msg you on X anymore.
With basic income, we're not just survivingβwe're building a future where everyone can thrive.
That's the power of economic freedom.

16.10.2025 14:15 β π 36 π 9 π¬ 0 π 3I believe AI will create massive wealth and potential for humankind to flourish.
But no matter, what we can all anticipate that the gains will be extremely unevenβperhaps more than any technological revolution that came before. And this is true even if there isn't rapid and sudden mass job loss. π§΅
Maybe listen to the Nobel Prize winner whose work made AI like ChatGPT possible⦠when he says UBI will be necessary?
10.10.2025 23:39 β π 24 π 8 π¬ 2 π 0Many in the Canadian basic income movement brushed this off until as recently as 2 years ago, when chatGPT became the fastest product to 100M users
Now everyone's talking about it
Bernie dropped this video saying AI will wipe out the working class.
βMillions of jobs will be eliminated. This is not science fiction. Itβs already happening.β
The UBI movement has been saying this for years.
