Just before lockdown, beer was already slowing down and lockdown accelerated it. First time in over a decade that beer had negative growth for several years in a row. People still drink, just not nearly as much craft beer. These days it’s ready to drink cocktails and premium domestics.

Yes. Also I should put a Douglas in your paw instead. A legit local beer 😉

Time to make my way back to Seattle. Was a perfect weather weekend in Chicago where I got to see my best friend get married, see family, and be a dumb tourist around the city. Have so much work to do as we head into fall back home and my own bed is calling to me. Cheers! 🍸

Speaking of. I’m off to Chicago this weekend. Had to get my traditional Cosmo at the lounge. Several folks asked “what’s with the mascot stuff?” 🤣

And related to that. Haven’t really found a regular friend group yet, but am kind of adjacent to a few of them so I go out to attend events now and again like my first Mariners game where they won the division that night.

Update on life is that things are still stupid crazy at work, but I’m getting a better handle on the day to day. Hiring staff has been helping. Personal life has gotten significantly better this year and carving out two days off a week regularly has done wonders for my mental health and sleep. 🥰

Had an amazing time last weekend at Furvana with @mortova.bsky.social and @akamaiorca.bsky.social where we got up to many antics and hung out with a lot of fluffs at the bar or beach. The panel also went very well and my social battery was toast. Full Moon on the final night was a great ending. ❤️

Was a very cute and fun video. Seems very “you”, at least for the years I’ve been following you.

AI is the new “mechanical” (a la Industrial Revolution) which could replace humans and reduce the age old cost center of most businesses, labor.

Reality is that just like robots in factories, humans are still needed to watch and maintain them. Same for AI. It’ll eventually balance out.

Oh that part is still a little broken. Duct tape and hope only goes so far.

Starting to feel like tech is at the desperation stage of AI. They know the traction isn’t there and it’s broken. Maybe brute forcing it into everything will do the trick and make people love it.

Microsoft, Google, Apple, and Facebook all copying the same bad playbook. Who will give up first? 🤷‍♂️🤔
