A literal last second victory.
For a match with a bot and a troll, we somehow won. Was a stressful, but fulfilling win.

Okay, but counterpoint: Lego is overpriced for what you get too.
07.11.2025 22:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On one hand, I'm not home right now. On the other, I REALLY want to play something on my computer.
Just the mere thought of nailing something in my FV4005 on World of Tanks is making me restless to play it.
EU5 is really kicking my ass. It sucks that there isn't much telling you what you are doing wrong when things go wrong. My country is collapsing and I don't know why.
I just wanna explore and colonize. T,T
I like the game so far. It does have a "mobile like" UI in the sense that it has a lot of big buttons like some touch screen games on a tablet. I agree though it isn't a very valid complaint once you start using it.

Makes me think of New Leaf where you always had something to do, unlock, or upgrade.
Main Street buildings, shops, the island, projects around town, villager requests, monthly events, the flower grind, etc.
At the end of the day, it's not my cup of tea.
I've tried to like New Horizons. Heck, I've modded the game to have unbreakable tools and the soundtrack of older games and ended up enjoying myself more. But the lack of response from villagers and lack of medium/longterm goals happers my enjoyment.
My main issues are fivefold:
- Breakable tools
- The soundtrack is too light and airy, which leads me to get bored and tired really quickly
- The lack of longterm upgrades and goals
- Villagers have too little dialogue
- The overemphasis on the crafting mechanic
This, combined with the lack of a native Linux port (which is odd considering every other PDX game has one), tells me this is going to be a trash fire of a release.
The fact that even *I'M* under spec, and I have a decent PC, should be ringing alarm bells as well.
Paradox just released a performance guide for EU5, and it's ringing a lot of alarm bells in my head.
The two key points of alarm are:
- There's no mention of CPU performance, the most key part of any PDX game
- The recommendation of MFG+DLSS, the snake oil of the industry
I have been forced to reinstall my Linux distro for the first time thanks to a bug with Fedora KDE 43.
Still better than what I've heard Windows doing lately.
> Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets a new update
I'll stick to New Leaf and the Gamecube game. Maybe I'll be excited if the next game is good and fixes New Horizons many, MANY issues.
The rest of the first party games aren't interesting to me. The Switch 1 already had an extremely underwhelming library, and it seems the Switch 2 might follow suit.
AC:NH was such a massive disappointment that I almost never touched my Switch 1 again.
My Switch 1 has been gathering dust for years now, and Switch emulators can already give the enhanced performance and graphical fidelity that a Switch 2 would otherwise provide.
Without an Animal Crossing game to entice me, I don't think I'll buy one. And it'd have to be a good AC game too.
Looking at the idea of buying a Switch 2, and finding it extremely underwhelming.
As somebody who has been primarily a PC gamer for the past decade and a half, there just isn't much to entice me to the Switch 2 that I couldn't already do with my PC. It's honestly going to come down to the new AC.

27.10.2025 19:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have been completely addicted to Worm fanfiction the past two months. Finding a solid one like An Everdistant Horizon, or Protogen of the Bay is like cocaine to my novel loving brain.
I don't even like Worm!
I have once more gone through the ever continuing cycle of feeling the itch to play War Thunder, playing it, having a bit of fun, then a few days later re-realizing why I dislike War Thunder and quiting.
I got the TKX (P) this time at least.
I mean, Kirby's relentless hunger could be used as a metaphor for capitalism and it's relentless greed that swallows up the working classes that stand in its way. :P
24.10.2025 11:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I keep seeing posts about how games should cost more, when it's that games budgets are too big for what you get out of said budget and the fact that AAA games are often directionless.
More people need to learn some proper economics. There's more to it than supply/demand and inflation.
Speaking as a Fedora user, the only issues I've had with day one releases not working were fixed with a computer restart.
Everything works out of the box besides stuff by companies that specifically use DRM or anti-cheat to block Linux users. I've never had issues with Denuvo either.
Listening to a new audiobook!
I'm currently listening to The Jakarta Method by Vincent Bevins.
It's an audiobook about the 1965-66 Indonesian Massacres, and the history leading up to and surrounding them.

I'd reccomend using Libro.fm. They give you DRM free audiobooks that you can download and listen to via thair app or get the raw audiofiles to play via whatever player you want.
It also helps local bookstores when you buy a book via them.
Refershing various internet novel sites hoping for a good new chapter or release. It sucks that I've tried virtually everything worth trying on the sites that I know about.
