I have a LOT of thoughts on this but mainly: read the comments. Read how many *family* members of cops deal with their worst behavior. That's how they treat the people they supposedly care about. If you listen to anyone about not needing more cops, can you listen to those of us that have lived it?

You know what's a threat to you? Men. Men you know. Not a neighborhood. Not any perceived sketchieness. It's men. It's usually intimate partner violence. Or family. But sure, "bad" neighborhoods.

Knowing what I know, knowing what cops know, knowing how the world works, it is wildly perplexing that people fear the things they fear. (it's racism.) (and it's amazing how casual it is. Coworker said in passing today that our Oakland hospital is in "a bad neighborhood" & I was like...the fuck?)
