Let's not go raving mad here, Justin.

A giant cloudy jar containing pickled onions. Another containing pickled eggs of indeterminate vintage. Unmarked clear plastic bags of pork scratchings containing hairs of unknown provenance.

Well, yes, obviously.
The CEO is on "only" Β£380k or so.

Fair. And this is the key question - are there people out there with the credentials to makes a success of this role who would want to do the job now?
06.12.2025 10:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Incidentally, it's just been pointed out to me that the WRU actually, per the job pack on its website, intends to pay its new Technical Director up to Β£160,000 *a month*.
So nearly Β£2m a year.
So, having increased its spending on various Board members and senior management by 40% last year, the WRU finds ever more inventory to spend on itself.
This time for a job which looks not dissimilar to that of a Director of Rugby, which it already has.
Good question. In previous autumns, the upper section of Glanmor's Gap has been closed. Yesterday, it was, but sparsely populated.
I guess it's a measure of how bad things are that it looked a larger than anticipated attendance, even if it was the smallest for SA in years, probably ever.
"Wales cannot match anyone of consequence right now. We have fallen out of the category of rugby nation and into the realm of rugby participantβpresent, but not competitive; involved, but not threatening".

God. Imagine having to go through that all over again.
29.11.2025 22:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fully expecting Dave to have another crunch of The Data after this weekend and conclude that the WRU should make the pro teams pick schoolchildren more often.
29.11.2025 21:42 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Quite a bad day for the WRU, all things considered.
29.11.2025 21:35 β π 17 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0Quite the day for teams not scoring any points.

He's had a terrific game.
Yeah. I'm not sure "if we don't let players chuck haymakers at each other then they're bound to have a sneaky gouge now and again" really stands up, tbh.

29.11.2025 21:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Definitely.
We're defending well, but we're mainly on the backfoot since turning down the 3.
It does feel as though momentum is shifting a bit...

29.11.2025 21:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Quite discombobulating to see the Scarlets absolutely dominating a game in the air.
This isn't The Welsh Way [TM].
As a rule of thumb, players are *always* the type of players to do the things they do. That's why they do them.
29.11.2025 19:45 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0Fine. If Mann or anybody on the Wales team did anything outside the laws of the game, they should be hauled over the coals too.
But nothing excuses Etzebeth's actions.
Reckon there'll be a profitable line in "Justice 4 Eben" armbands next time South Africa take the field.
Only for the one game, because he'll doubtless get a four match ban reduced to three for saying sorry reduced to two for attending Non-Gouging School reduced to one for bringing nice biscuits.
You'll have watched Wales win more Grand Slams in your lifetime than any Irish fan who is under 95 years of age, and any Scottish rugby fan ever.
Which, from where we were in 2003, isn't bad.
"In isolation, one might chalk it off as just one of those things. But this is becoming part of a pattern of Union behaviour which suggests a lack of care for the game, and a lack of respect for those who contribute".

Glorious.
On the drive down today, I didn't really believe BBC Wales' Feast of Football panel when they insisted that Wales would soon click and give somebody a hiding.
But, my word, that was something else.
