YouTube video by Μ&M Μερακλής ο καπετάνιος 🤣 #ai #aivideo

For my greek speaking friends. They are mocking AI generated videos, I guess especially when you prompt them to generate humorous dialogues.

- καπετανιε τι ειναι αυτη η ασπρη σκονη που κουβαλαμε;
- αλευρι παιδι μου
- τι αλευρι, εδω τη μυριζεις και την ακους
- ε ειναι για ολες τις χρησεις

This piece is disturbing because it reads like a press release that had to include a bit of journalism in it. There’s virtually no critical analysis of the danger of what’s happening. The only mention of the word “law” is a UN quote.

Can a Contract Freeze the Law on Autonomous Weapons? – Answer.AI OpenAI claims its contract with the Department of War locks in current laws on autonomous weapons. Based on the contract language OpenAI has shared, 150 years of Supreme Court precedent, and the found...

According to OpenAI, their contract with the US DoW locks in current law, "even if those laws or policies change in the future".

Our legal analysis, with Virgil Law CEO Luke Versweyveld, shows that this is almost certainly incorrect.

The cult that wants to give human rights to robots Anthropic’s ‘Claude Constitution’ reflects the misanthropic, ultra-utilitarian Effective Altruism agenda.

How about if we give human rights to humans first?

I have been so lucky to have had absolutely fantastic mentorship from many senior academics in my short career, and great colleagues. But it’s also not uncommon to have seen how the pressures of academia bring out the worst of some people and how the culture can enable and encourage that

Of course you dont need to ask for anyone’s permission. I’m not sure why you read it that way.

Because we don’t get to decide everyone’s fate.

I do like automating things, otherwise I wouldn’t work in this field. I do not like taking the human out of the picture completely. Also, I like asking people from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds what they actually want, rather than making assumptions for everyone.

So, pragmatically, all this "freeing ourselves from work" is utter nonsense.

02.03.2026 17:42 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

And call me a pessimist, but all this "eliminating all work" thing, will just concentrate power and wealth further. And I don't really see any concrete actions from people from our field to change this. On the very contrary, we mostly contribute to the concentration of wealth.

02.03.2026 17:42 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

My issue is exactly about distribution of wealth actually. I don't care about utopias, because well, it's just utopias. I care about what happens in reality, where power and wealth are more and more concentrated in very few people. 👇

You cannot talk like this about any other minority in America.

And if it was any other president’s adviser who said something like this about any other minority, it’d be the instant end of their presidency.

Partly agree. But to put a bit (imo) better, scientists bring the chances of confirmation bias down by a) being open to try various different methodologies for a given problem rather than being dogmatic, and b) by being transparent about *any* results including negative ones.
