Because we don’t get to decide everyone’s fate.

I do like automating things, otherwise I wouldn’t work in this field. I do not like taking the human out of the picture completely. Also, I like asking people from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds what they actually want, rather than making assumptions for everyone.

So, pragmatically, all this "freeing ourselves from work" is utter nonsense.

And call me a pessimist, but all this "eliminating all work" thing, will just concentrate power and wealth further. And I don't really see any concrete actions from people from our field to change this. On the very contrary, we mostly contribute to the concentration of wealth.

My issue is exactly about distribution of wealth actually. I don't care about utopias, because well, it's just utopias. I care about what happens in reality, where power and wealth are more and more concentrated in very few people. 👇
