The first action is an email template for CDPs to send to Bridget Phillipson supporting the School Support Staff Negotiating Body which will review all non-teaching roles in schools in England. You can use it to show how important fair pay is for careers staff.

It is also creating a workforce crisis in the profession - with 23% planning to leave due to poor pay and 36% planning to retire. Unfair pay makes it hard to retain qualified professionals and replace those leaving.

UK Government has responded to the Work and Pensions Committee report on the Jobs and Careers Service. Read the CDI's summary, including the intention to move away from the 'incentivised funding model and a commitment to professionally-aligned qualifications.

Following the publication of the Post-16 Skills and Education White paper, I've summarised the key references to careers guidance and what they might mean.
Overall, the paper is very positive about careers guidance but there's no additional funding announced.
