Market research time for knot aficionados! If 1 is the smallest and 5 is the largest, which of these looks most enjoyable? For reference my fist is 4" across the knuckles. Small knot (1) is ~5.75" circumference, large (5) is ~7.5" circumference.

Coat 2. Smooth-On's XTC-3D is not, it turns out, a 100% cure for the foibles of 3D printing but it's really dang close. And honestly I think it's gonna be close enough at 2 coats to proceed with some silicone prototyping.

Mica pigments to experiment with were one of the last things I ordered. They arrived a day early. Prototyping process begins tomorrow morning, then!

did you know you can just go out and buy silicone of the consistency used to fill breast implants? and then, presumably, use it to cast incredibly hilariously jiggly floppy...things...

This is sad because it won't have a working wheel on it like my lego mold form. but I have concerns about the structural integrity on the corners of the lego mold form.

Hmm. Think I'm going to have to cave in and construct a mold form out of cardboard.

A page of instructions for Smooth-On XTC-3D epoxy coating. "90% Time & Labor Savings: XTC-3D fills in 3D print striations and creates a smooth, high-gloss finish. The need to post finish is almost eliminated." has been highlighted in yellow.
