I continue to be amazed that anyone uses Amazon AWS, or Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Services. Only someone who's very happy to completely lock their business into a 3rd party proprietary stack they don't control, and loves paying 20x (2000%!) more than reasonable commodity infrastructure [β¦]

@Firesphere @Codeberg yup. Codeberg's a great option. Or perhaps something a bit more local... let's see what happens. A great migration away from GitHub is very appropriate and timely. The next thing we need is a pan-libre-forge search system, to which a self-hoster can register their instance [β¦]

And, what's more, Luxon's benefactors (and beneficiaries), i.e. his (actual) 'constituents' (the rich rentier class of NZ) *benefit* directly from NZ going into greater debt... because they *hold* that debt. We should just be taxing the shit out of them. If they [β¦]

Luxon is just plain horrible. As a leader of his party, or our society, or as a 'financial steward'. He's not fit for any of those purposes. I suspect he'd be useless for just about any other purpose, too.

@ocdtrekkie it's NZ"s process for 'inspecting' a car and deeming it road-worthy (or not)...
There's a lot to be said for having an old car that's suitable for all the messy jobs.

For what it's worth (not much, I accept), I've owned the car for the past 28 years, and it's 33 years old. It doesn't owe me much, but its engine's probably still got an easy 150k kilometers in it. It's just the rest of the car that's disintegrating around it a bit.

Sadly, the prognosis on the vehicle whose fate was being decided while I was attempting to work in various cafes is not auspicious. In another cafe now (work on car is taking longer than expected)... this one's relatively quiet. But the music vibe (alt country!?) is offputting.
