BUTTERFLY EFFECTS, coming out next month (for the first time! Not a reprint!), is Sarah's third shot at narration, as the full consequences of what she did in CALCULATED RISKS finally become evident, and we get to see the dimension she originally came from.

While you should read the whole series for full understanding, IMAGINARY NUMBERS and CALCULATED RISKS form a sort of duology as Sarah tells us the story her way, from her somewhat alien perspective. And this is great timing for reprinting them, because...

Sarah has been a part of the InCryptid series since the beginning, first appearing in DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON (2012), but she didn't take on narration duties until IMAGINARY NUMBERS, when we started to fully understand why cuckoos are considered so dangerous.

Sarah was made to be a monster, but an accident of timing brought her to the Price family as a child, and she got the opportunity to be a person instead. An anxious, neurotic, compassionate person who loves her family and would do anything to keep them safe. Anything at all.

Sarah Zellaby is not human. She looks human, on the outside, but on the inside, she's a telepathic ambush predator, a form of hyper-evolved wasp originally from another dimension. Her species moves unnoticed through human populations. We call them "cuckoos," brood parasites.

The horrors persist, but so must I. And my persistence means making sure people know about my job so I can feed the cats, pay the mortgage, and help support the causes I believe in.

With this in mind, the reprint editions of IMAGINARY NUMBERS and CALCULATED RISKS are out today!
