(16/9) Since we’ve got powers and some time on our hands, we’ve started making a name for ourselves by fighting crime in Honolulu. Funny enough, even in the age of social media, no one’s posted about us—not a TikTok, not a subreddit. But I think that’s about to change.

(14/9) She stayed on the island, picking up local commercial gigs, while I got a job as a lifeguard. We’ve been together ever since. Oh, and did I mention Maddy’s also a metahuman? She has telekinesis. It’s not the most developed skill, but it sure adds a new dimension to our relationship.

(13/9) Not long after, I invited my girlfriend, Maddy, to move onto the boat. She’s a former model who came to the island for a shoot I was hired to guard. When the campaign fell through, her agency dumped her.

(9/9) The fight was intense. Mano used his necklace to turn his skin into steel, while Alice couldn’t touch me thanks to my tattoo’s protective power. The problem? Neither Mano nor I are great fighters, and Alice is a trained killer.

(8/9) She doesn’t talk much, but we know she was trained by Deathstroke before he kicked her out for failing a mission. She wears a biker helmet that’s some kind of high-tech marvel.

(7/9) Anyway, we escorted this rich idiot to the dock, and, as expected, things went south. Our client tried to short the drug lord, who responded by sending his assassin after us. Her name’s Alice. Nice girl—these days, at least.

(6/9) The Atlantean used magic to transfuse some of their own blood to save his life. Since then, Mano’s had super strength, and his body can absorb and transform the properties of any material he touches.

(5/9) his name’s Mano. He’s a native Hawaiian and, like me, a metahuman. When Mano was a teenager, he got caught under a massive wave while surfing and didn’t come back up. Luckily, an Atlantean saved him. Unluckily, the coral reef had shredded him pretty badly.
