Played this Air album for the first time in literal decades today. However, I’d forgotten that side two had been pressed so queasily off-centre. The last track sounds like Ivan Wyschnegradsky. I suspect it’s a bit late to return it now.

Blinding Lights is a pop song that will outlast time itself. It is a machine-tooled, bulletproof, utterly inevitable thing.

Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.

I daren’t check just how old Melody AM actually is. I don’t think its release date starts with a 19, but I can’t be entirely sure.

I don’t understand sport but the final score of Bad Bunny 128, Kid Rock 6, seems pretty decisive.

I presented a UK commercial radio breakfast show from 1996 to 2003. It was not a good period for pop music: Steps, Westlife, Bob The Builder. Truly however, the nadir was reached by Kid Rock’s All Summer Long; a record of such unending stinking hatefulness I swear I could actually taste it.

I suppose it might be theoretically possible to give less of a shit about the Beckham family, but I genuinely can’t imagine what that would feel like.

I still think GPS is one of the greatest and most astonishing inventions. Pure and utterly fanciful Q-gadget sci-fi fantasy somehow became ubiquitous reality, in large part thanks to this genius.

But a tunnel connects, which is why the headline is absurd. Technically - on that basis - it is also a tunnel “between the UK and Russia”, depending where one starts and ends! If we were taking about, say, an area of low pressure “between the UK and Iceland”, that would work just fine.

They might as well have written “between the UK and the Moon”…

I've never tried 0.0% versions of alcoholic brands; what with not drinking, I suspect I have gone off the taste too, so Pepsi Max suffices. I do wonder what an alcohol-free Stevo might taste like though? (I don't wonder enough to actually want one, obviously.)

There is, of course, no tunnel between Iceland and the UK, despite the ludicrous implication of this ludicrous headline. The tunnel is in, and arguably under, the Faroe Islands.

Bluesky! Is this gaffer tape, or gaffa tape? They sound identical, but in written form one is surely wrong?

The UK drink-drive limit is to be cut. Excellent news; long overdue. I don’t drink - haven’t done so for about 5 years - but when I did, I never combined it with driving. What’s the point of having “just one or two” and then fretting about whether you’re over the limit? Drink or drive - pick one!

1100 ISK for all this. Feels almost illegal.
