I will say one thing that makes me laugh is that when someone says that something can't be done. Especially when I know it's been done, and is currently being utilized. So effectively by stating that it is doable and how to do it may have lit a small fire under some engineers.

I know that all storage media will fail over time. Just as all tech does. I've had to tell people their systems are beyond saving

I know, so will SSDs given time or data stored. It's just HDDs have a longer shelf life

And I've seen the technological upgrades done to HDDs to end up giving you a 32tb drive. With that drive size idk what the usable would be, sorry. But it would help for storing it all of course.

I'm going to go with the fact that they want to cull as much info from everyone as possible. Which is really insane to think about with regards to how much of the internet is scraped today for data
