What do we need in orthopaedic research? - Case gluteal tendon tear - Critical orthopod Orthobullets is an excellent educational platform. However, their case examples consistently seem to favor surgical treatment. This may, of course, stem from the generally surgery-oriented culture in ...

What do we need in #orthopaedics if we want to repair degenerative tendons?

For those who missed it

MRCP is a πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ exam for physicians

They *just* discovered that in 2023, >200 people passed who should have failed & > 60 who failed should have passed

They expect people to resit

The harm is huge

Single episode high stakes exams are not fit for purpose

So proud to be part of the seismic shift updating the old fashioned surgical world into an open, diverse and SAFE culture @collegeofsurgeons.bsky.social aren’t afraid to get criticism and make changes. There have been so many improvements already, with more to come πŸ’ͺ🏽

Why are people so angry with insurance companies?

This hip replacement was denied by UHC as a β€œpre-existing condition.”

He was never seen for his hip prior to me, so they just lied, also the ACA banned pre-existing condition denials.

Appeal filed and also denied.

Countless stories like this.

No More General Anesthesia
YouTube video by Dr. Glaucomflecken No More General Anesthesia

One thing I didn’t expect in the wake of the CEO shooting is the sudden attention on health insurance policy. I have seen this video and the BCBS policy itself go viral on almost every platform. People are waking up. Real lasting change in healthcare is coming. youtube.com/shorts/vWA2a...

Pretty standard in our neck of the woods. For some reason called Bittmann stitch here though I have never been able to trace down the origin for the naming. Easy and quick.
