I apologize to anyone who has been interested in the daily poems I've been doing; I wanted to try to do one a day for a whole year but lately it's started to feel more like a chore and I haven't felt as inspired. I may pick it up again here and there.

coat I bought it at a Burlington; I don't remember the price. To get it to fit in the suitcase, I had to sit on it thrice. It was SO puffy, so full of fluff, It almost doubled my size. But it must be so, for thin coats in Siberia is not so wise. It was so warm, it was so soft, It kept myself from freezing. The downy stuffing stayed inside, So I wasn't worried about sneezing. When I had to leave, to come back home, I wanted to bring my coat, So I stuffed it in my bag again; It made the bag widen and bloat. To help reduce the size a bit, I wrapped duct tape around it. But the tape left a nasty residue, and the coat was worse when I found it. I could not keep it in this state, for the tacky crud wouldn't leave. story There's no way my story ends up as a must-read. So little exciting ever seems to go on. It won't be a page-turner or New York bestseller; Will anyone want to read it when I'm gone? I could list all the things I hope it will be, All the ways that I hope it turns out. The list of things that I hope it won't say Is a list much more worth reading about. I do hope it's not too boring or dull; May it never put someone to sleep. It probably won't excite or get the mind racing, And it won't be too confusing or deep. Usually a burrito or a quesadilla; gotta have the green chile sauce. Steak most of the time, sometimes chicken. This might be blasphemy but I don't like the sweet pork there or at Cafe Rio

Yeah, I think we have pretty run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants; there are better and worse ones in our town for sure.

That's my wife; she ALWAYS wants Mexican. I think I'm pretty good about playing along if that's what she's set on. But she also has a weekly lunch date with her bestie for Mexican so that usually gets me off the hook
