The LRP40 tour is our first w/ a mandolin song. Dag asked who would take mandolin duties. I sent him this pic. My mom & stepdad bought a mandolin for me when I was 7. They showed me chords and encouraged me to play. Feeling fortunate I can utilize it 48 years later on stage. Thank you, Mom & Jim!

Eagerly awaiting Nick’s playlist decision

ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.

I will try to earn my place back into SDRE world this weekend with two shows: 1/29 at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia and 1/30 at Irving Plaza NYC

I want to say, Nick, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry. I’m sorry to my bandmates (Jeremy, Dan, Will, Chris, Greg) and to the entire Sunny Day Real Estate community. I will remember you, Nick, next time and forever.

When Eva and I got home, she let me know that Nick had taken Sunny Day Real Estate off his playlist.

After the show, Nick approached me, saying “Jason Narducy”. I said “Hey how are you? What’s your name?” He said his name and I said “Oh yeah - we’ve met before”. But the damage was done. Nick was disappointed I didn’t immediately remember him from the time we met last year.

Smiling, she pointed to where I was sitting.

On Sunday night, I went to see my daughter, Eva, perform with her School Of Rock group. During her performance, her friend, Nick, held up his phone to her. He had written in large font “JASON NARDUCY?”. Nick is a big Sunny Day Real Estate fan and wanted to know if I was in the building.
