Because sometimes, people might come into a clinic defensive, scared, upset, or emotional. The best part of the person isnβt gonna come out the first day. But if I do my part and help them along, I get an opportunity to see the best part of the person as time goes by."

The last time I was around Tom, he said, 'Donβt treat them like they are. Treat them the way youβd like them to be.' At the time, I didnβt know whether he was talking about horses or people. Later, I realized that he was talking about both. I remind myself of that from time to time.

"Tom Dorrance once said, 'You can learn anything with these three words β observe, remember, and compare.' He said that beyond that, learn to adjust to fit the situation. That always meant so much to me.

Another bit of thawing yesterday and freeze overnight let us walk on top of the pasture this morning. I have a hearty laugh in surprise every time I suddenly sink into the snow. Temp of 32Β°F / 0Β°C

I read the book How Much is a Million by David M. Schwarz, with Pictures by Steven Kellogg, to my children years ago to help them understand large numbers.

March 4th!

Yesterday's snow followed by freezing rain/ice gave us trees sparkling in the sunshine. Temp of 31Β°F / -0.5Β°C

Too cloudy for Lunar Eclipse viewing at my farm. We are on the east side of the Hill, so likely would not have seen much anyway. Temp of 16Β°F / -9Β°C.

I see. Since revealing a person's heart and respiration rate does not seem to be much of a security violation, I am guessing the concern is she is wearing a device that is masquerading as a Whoop and has other capabilities.

Enjoy a song to welcome March.
"Afloat, adrift
A flight, a wing
A hawk, a quail
The promise of spring
And the riverbank talks
Of the waters of March
It's the promise of life
It's the joy in your heart"

Yesterday we enjoyed sun and high of 50Β°F / 10Β°C which then froze with this morning's 30Β°F / -1Β°C. Dogs and I trekked to the back pasture (mostly) on top of the snow. Once there I proceeded to sink to my knees. Glimpsed a last hint of sun. Now it is snowing.

The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist

Or who did?"

And the immense accumulation of information that were taking in now it tends to be a masidan... tends to be a sort of mixture that finally one thing cancels out the other. It's so overwhelming.

But in the morning, if you've just been talking on the telephone or peeling carrots or hanging out on Instagram, you're not going to see anything the following day except an accumulation of information.
