Tiktoker spray paints a ruin of Great Zimbabwe and regrets it. This one feels structured like a movie, but it isn't. Like I can easily separate the bits and fill in new material without any effort. Honestly I wish they would make a film with this.

Ok this one is just pretty and also cute as fuck. I can easily see this as a pilot to a cartoon. It is a whole thing about two sides of a family pushing their teenage daughter onto what they want her to be and hijinks ensure. Very warm

4/10: Surf Sangoma

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the setting of a flooded city surrounded by walls to protect it from the larger ocean with a focus on surfing as well. It also has a surprising horror element but still, the setting got me geeked. Nepotism but the kid hates it

I can see where they were going with this but I felt it needed more time to help give more of the complicated beats and reveals make more sense to the viewer. I left it confused and had to go back to understand it.
But I did enjoy it.

You can't just drop a fucking Trigger inspired animation about a kid syncing with a Zulu spirit to get better at racing in an alien circuit and then NOT GIVE ME A SERIES. EXTREMELY GOOD I cried from how cool it is, I need a series.

Very cute little short, lovely little style and cattle herders that fight some red cat-like vine monsters away from the cattle is dope. It feels like it uses it's time exactly right and it feels like a short. I don't want more or less.
