Accountability

Todays win: Showing my face, and entering the space was enough. Information was exchanged, I was taken seriously and that was good. I was in a verbal shutdown and couldn't speak.I used a note to communicate and single words. Then I headed home. That was enough, it was also important for me to do.

Thanks, It's going to be way better than previous years, that is for sure. I hope maybe the worst bit is now leading up to it. I'm still getting carrot cake or carrot cake cupcake.

Tuesday is the anniversary of something that makes me feel like 💩. I need:
Spicy breaded scampi, Carrot cake, Hot chocolate, Green tea, Things that smell good, blankets, a foot bath, playlist to sing along, comfy outfit, art supplies, my Wii U, phone in flight mode and to hide laptop.

In my case being an autistic aroace-spec person I sometimes end up accidentally hitting on people. Leaving my inner vampire at home is smart, it took me way too long to realize how sexy they were. Aren’t they supposed to be dead? Also they don’t rely on sexual reproduction they can just bite people.

I feel grossed out, because it was the wrong setting ect. I’m just glad I get to keep safe and that I’m getting better at recognizing these things.

Anyway, I’m learning.

So, I managed to actually pick up on someone’s romantic or sexual interest in me for once. I feel both grossed out and proud of myself for actually realizing it in real time for once. For people like me I wish there was a course.

This is the first year, I know the truth, the first year I'm able to reassure myself in a way that might help. I'm going to pick out a cosy outfit, make myself hot chocolate or something. I did some EMDR earlier this week, it helped a bit, but I'm tired.

I feel like there is this societal view of romantic attraction as good, and sexual attraction as kind of immoral. Meanwhile a lot of people will consider romantic connections, with people they would never consider friends and or care for outside of romance. My aromantic ass don't really get that.

Ironically labelling autism as trauma, can lead to actual trauma needing treatment to be overlooked. It also stigmatise trauma patients with and without autism. Trauma can impact every aspect of someones life, it can be part of someones identity even, but there will always be more to a person.

It also hurts our relationships, it worsens autistiphobia. It prevents understanding and boundary setting. Trauma implies you need treatment. Autism is just there, we can never be non-autistic. Labeling everything trauma is autistiphobic.

Institutionalization doesn’t just happen while people are staying at a hospital. For an autistic person regular therapy can drain social batteries. It can make autistic people unable to engage with people outside of therapy. Labeling all autistic people as having trauma can be extremely harmful.

I’m tired of everyone talking as if autism and trauma is so similar. They are not!! Labeling every autistic person as traumatized implies they need treatment that they will never be done with. It’s a way of portraying autistic people as fundamentally broken. Projects.

KRFU lederen som sier at det er med tungt hjerte at hun helst vil at voldtatte ikke skal få ta abort.. minner det meg om scenen i Shrek hvor Lord Farquad sier «some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make».

Jeg blir nedbrutt nok at å se at KRFU lederen er for å tvinge graviditet på voldtektsofre, jeg blir trigga og fortvila, når jeg ser folk på venstresiden hevde at man ikke må bry seg for hardt. Som om at det er riktig å skylde på utsatte når noen som gjør skade spiller offer for å snu ansvaret.

Enten det er snakk om kjønns-bekreftende behandling, abort og til og med medisiner for ADHD. Så ser vi at mange har sterke meninger om behandling de ikke trenger. Alle disse behandlingene er livsnødvendige for de som trenger det. Så reduseres det til diskusjonstema, som om det ikke stod om liv.

Når folk på venstresiden snakker om kanselleringskultur og at folk må være forsiktige med å være for kritiske for å ikke gjøre situasjonen verre, blir jeg sur. De spiller offer uansett, målet er å kneble.Her er målet å kneble voldtatte og de som støtter personer som har blitt voldtatt.

My orientation is a barrier to getting medical help! I'm starting to get desperate. It is impossible to describe how this impacted me without bringing up my orientation, and I know what they will do. Being asexual when everyone assumes sexuality is experienced in a universal way, is so dangerous.

I wish I learned about a-spec orientations in school, preferably early. I wish I knew about it when I was 10 years old. I’m serious. I knew lesbians existed, but not asexuals. Life would have been better with education about these things. Lack of education is harmful! #asexual
