Jeg tror også meldeplikt kan være konfliktdempende i en del tilfeller. Tror det er lurt å skille mellom hensynet til biologisk mangfold og friluftsliv (dagens generasjon mot kommende). Det vil gjøre debatten mer transparent. Det vil bli spor etter all hogst. Det er en utfordring.

There is one Norwegian study: doi.org/10.1016/j.fo.... There are some methodological issues with the study. Still interesting. Figure 1 shows that more than age determines growth and that all identifiable plots follow a sigmoid pattern. Nothing grows into the sky 😀

There are old growth forests and there are old growth forests... Even aged forestry or rotation forestry, i.e. clear-cuts followed by planting, started about 1940 in Norway. These stands thus cannot be really old (cf the max age of trees/spruce). 'Natural' forest is better studied.

Norges utslipp av klimagasser er først og fremst knyttet til fossil energi. Mye kan erstattes med strøm. Ny industri kan vi også velge som gir behov for mer produksjon. Samtidig vil folk ha billig strøm. Taksol, enøk, atomkraft og havvind, er dyrt. Vanskelig å finne politiske kompromisser.

Nei, men det varierer etter form og sted. Men hvis et vassdrag er verner og det bygges der, er det jo ikke vernet. Poenget med vern faller bort - selv om konsekvensene kanskje isolert sett er små.

At Sp og V skal støtte samme regjering, høres usannsynlig ut. Vanskelig nok med V og FrP. Sp gir mer FrP-politikk. Mdg har gått til valg mot FrP. Teoretisk mulig, og kanskje mulig å bruke i tutti-frutti-forhandlingene.

Fotosyntesen er ikke veldig effektiv, men solceller er ikke så effektive. (Må finne frem kalkulatoren 😀) Fordelen med skog (biodrivstoff) er at arealet fortsatt er natur.

Biodrivstoff er viktig for de sektorene som ikke kan gjøres fossilfrie på kort tid. Men det må gjøres på en god måte.

There is a yearly report now published by Landbruksdirektoratet with stats on regeneration method. The law says that the harvested area should be satisfactory regenerated (have a certain amount of "healthy" recruits) within 3 years. 20 of the area don't.

Er han ikke en dreven politiker? Han må stå for de ordene han bruker. Nå er det vel heller ikke slik at ESA skal fremme Norges sak? Det er et overvåkningsorgan, ikke en lobbyorganisasjon. Dette vet og skjønner ham.

The point here is the protein content. It needs to be high enough and have the right quality, i e., gluten to be used for baking bread. Humans can eat and utilize all - I think. The variation between years is mainly due to weather.

Kommunen har vedtatt å være arealnøytral. Ut fra bildene ser det ut til at de vil bygge på landbruksareal og natur. Det er teoretisk mulig å bli "nøytral", men vanskelig og ikke minst dyrt.

This is beneficial for the current generation, but not necessarily so for those ones coming after us. Harvest will lead to increased emissions in the short term - so also in the future. Thus, if we can't use it now, we can't use it in the future. For the hard to abate sectors the options are few.

My memory was wrong 🙃 No mentioning of the inventory development. Maybe the starting point can be found in the NIR. The RFL is 26.085 Mton/year.

The removal should be 25 mill tons CO2 per year -ish. If I recall correctly, you find the figures in the FRL report. If not, there are people at NIBIO that know. (I'll check when at pc)

Implicitly, it already is included through the climate agreement Norway has with the EU. We owe up to 34 mill tons CO2 for the first compliance period.

Aging forests and climate change (esp. drought) indicate that including forests in the climate target is risky - at best.
