So no, human rights being under threat isn’t a good reason for ignoring non-human sentient animal rights. It’s a reason to take them way more seriously.

Weirdly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights doesn’t ground human rights. It just declares them based on faith. Not great for #Humanists or the non-religious.

To robustly defend #humanrights we need a scientific, real world basis for them (and yes of course it’s #sentience 😊)
