I've always had a deep distrust of the technology I use and developed a matching cynicism about Silicon Valley

I used a flip phone for years until I was forced onto a smartphone because it's become the only way to access some things

I'm old and can tell you that, with a few exceptions, life was *much* better before Jobs and Apple brought down this plague on us all

That\s why I consider this to be a necessary course correction

I personally would perish of embarrassment if I couldn't find my way around town without a smartphone

Right now I could get into a car and drive to any major city without looking at a map because I've used printed maps for so long +
