Every time the world attention is turned towards Trump's antics, or any other distraction, Israel uses the opportunity to ratchet up the genocide of Gaza and ethnic cleansing of West Bank.

PS I know "ethnic cleansing" started out as a euphemism, but is now understood as full crime against humanity.

An admirable and principled decision from someone who has long been a credit to the Labour Party. Defence spending must go up, but this is the wrong way to do it, and Anneliese is absolutely right to say so.

I'm also (very slowly) reading the Khalidi book. Alongside listening to 'the great derangement' (the analysis and prose stops you in your tracks) and desperately trying to finish kare Atkinson 'emotionally weird' for the fiction book club I'm in (just can't get into it despite loving others by her).

Historian of fascism here. It was a Nazi salute and a very belligerent one too.
